Crazy Horse Memorial relies on admission fees from visitors and contributions from individuals, businesses and organizations for its operation.

No federal or state funds are accepted.

Regular family admission fees

$10 - Adults - Under 6-years of age - FREE
$27 - Carload (whichever is better for you)

(We provide bus rides on a regular basis daily, weather and blast schedule permitting; children under 6 free)

Van rides to the top of the mountain are available to members at some contribution levels (weather and blast schedule permitting). Check your membership information for details.

Free Admission

Admission is always free for Native Americans, military personnel with active-duty ID, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops in uniform, and Custer County, SD residents.

Grass Roots Club Members

Grass Roots Club members and their guests are admitted free throughout the year of their membership. Visit us on the membership page.

Memorial and Labor Day weekends

Memorial and Labor Day weekends feature Open Houses, during which residents of South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and Nebraska are admitted to the Memorial free. In lieu of the admission fee, a donation of three cans of food per person (or a comparable cash donation) for the KOTA Care & Share Food Drive is requested.

Hours of Operation

During the winter season (October 13th through the Thursday preceding Memorial Day weekend), the Memorial's visitor complex is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., the mountain viewing area from the parking lot is open until dark, and the mountain is lighted nightly at dark for one hour. On weekends, from mid October through early June, admission is free with three cans of food per person for the KOTA Care & Share Food Drive.

Pet Policy:

Leashed pets are welcome at Crazy Horse Memorial in the outside common areas, including the viewing veranda and the roofed, concrete floor entry leading to it. Pets are allowed inside any of the buildings, with the exception of the restaurant and snack shop, but must be carried or otherwise contained. We ask that owners take responsibility for cleaning up after their pets. No pets are allowed in the food service areas or on the bus rides to the bottom of the mountain. Service animals are permitted in all areas
